We have chosen the Hotel Indigo for our upcoming 2018 NASPH conference. We have rooms reserved for conference attendees. Please be sure to mention when booking that you will be attending the NASPH conference. CONFERENCE LOCATION The conference will be held on the campus of North Central College (NCC) in Naperville, IL—about 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Conference sessions will be held in Ratio Hall on the second floor of Wentz Science Center (building #18 on the attached campus map.) NCC’s campus is in downtown Naperville and is within walking distance of a number of restaurants, bars, and the conference hotel.
PARKING Attendees who are driving to campus should contact Greg regarding a parking permit which can be printed and placed on the driver’s side dashboard. The permit allows you to park in any campus lot. Campus parking is limited, so when classes are in session it may be difficult to find a spot. However, there is abundant street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood which does not require a permit. Most neighborhood spots have a 3 or 4 hour maximum, so please take note of the signs and move your car before the deadline to avoid getting a ticket.
HOTEL A block of rooms has been reserved (under ‘NASPH conference’) at the Hotel Indigo at a discounted rate of $173/night. Hotel Indigo is located in downtown Naperville within walking distance of NCC. NCC has partnerships with several other area hotels which offer discounted rates. (Ask for the North Central Friends & Family discount.) These hotels are not within walking distance, but most are within 3 miles of campus (~$5 cab ride) and some offer free shuttles service to NCC and downtown Naperville. Please note that the deadline for booking the reserved rooms at Hotel Indigo is Wednesday, August 22nd. After that, they will be opened to the general public and may no longer be available.
AIRPORT INFORMATION NCC is approximately 29 miles from Chicago-O’Hare airport and 33 miles from Chicago-Midway. Unfortunately, area hotels do not offer shuttle service to/from the airports. Cab fare is approximately $45 between to/from O’Hare and $50 to/from Midway. We are going to arrange a few shuttles from O’Hare to Naperville on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, as well as from Naperville to O’Hare on Sunday morning. We will try to accommodate as many conference attendees as possible, although since people will be arriving and departing at different times, we will likely not be able to accommodate everybody. If you are interested in using the shuttle, please email Greg Lynch (galynch@noctrl.edu) with your flight arrival/departure time and the hotel to/from which you are headed. We will send out an email ahead of the conference letting you know when and where the shuttles will be arriving.
New Information: Cab fare to/from the airport can vary substantially from one company to another. From what I have found the best rates seem to be through Windy City Limousine and West Suburban Limousine. Note that both of these require you to make a reservation ahead of time.
TRAVEL TO/FROM CHICAGO NCC is just a few blocks south of the Naperville Metra station on the BNSF line. The trip to/from Chicago Union Station takes approximately 1 hour.
